The idea

And determination to introduce and popularize the internationally well-known but still undeveloped concepts of “Specialty” and “Brunch” in Hungary were born in 2012 in Gozsdu Udvar.

Owner had “Specialty Coffee shops” in Odessa, Australia, and Tel Aviv, where these activities were already well-known. Thanks to his parents, he came to Hungary, where he immediately recognized a market gap and purposefully left his businesses behind to become the first to revolutionize Hungary's coffee and breakfast culture.

Due to the Israeli community and connections, he chose Gozsdu Udvar, which was not well-known at the time, neither to tourists nor to local residents.

The construction

The construction

Lasted over six months, but during this time, coffee sales continued in front of the café and at Madách Square from the well-known blue-colored Piaggio Ape, transformed into a mobile coffee shop.

Our history

The most recognized figures of the Hungarian coffee world appeared in the café day by day, "admiring" the on-site micro-roastery system and the 12 types of imported green coffee beans, which were freshly roasted and available for home use.

Many well-known and talented coffee roasters of today's artisan coffee industry met a live coffee roaster at our place for the first time, and we are very proud of this, even if many have become much more famous than us. We are proud and happy to have inspired so many people, and now we admire them and all they have accomplished. This chain reaction has revolutionized Hungarian coffee culture and the café market.

Over time, demand shaped supply, and along with Gozsdu Udvar, we also had to grow and develop organically. The needs of visitors extended beyond the "all-day brunch" and homemade artisanal pastries, which we realized, and we had to change. This is when we decided to move the roastery and coffee shop one street over to Rumbach Sebestyén Street and transform our activities in Gozsdu Udvar from day to night like a chameleon.

Our Journey

During the corona period, takeaway coffee and coffee bean sales never stopped for a single day. It was difficult, but we survived the economic shocks caused by the pandemic.

Our Journey

By the time the Covid pandemic hit, we had become suppliers to more than 20 cafés and 2 well-known bakery chains, contract roasters for 4 cafés, and home coffee suppliers to over 200 loyal returning customers, with monthly sales of more than 4 tons of coffee beans

In 2023, reaching our jubilee anniversary, thanks to our passion for coffee, the popularity of Gozsdu Udvar, and the demand of visitors, we proudly operate in 8 locations today, with 4 specialty cafés, 6 karaoke bars, and 1 roastery.

Today, our family is enriched by more than 80 employees from 15 nationalities, with different cultures and diverse mentalities. Nothing proves the appropriateness of the term "family" better than the fact that the very first employee, who was selling coffee in Madách Square from the well-known blue bird “tuk-tuk” back in February 2013, is still part of the team and the business today.
